Public rallies around 67 year who pummeled gangbanger on Oakland bus. "Mainstream" media villifies man.

Photo: Thomas Bruso is a 67 year old Marine Corps veterans who served in Vietnam. He has been dubbed a hero by the online community, and a villain to the “mainstream” media.

A 67 year old man on a transit bus is seen in a home video being harassed by a much younger black thug. A black woman with a video camera eggs the thug on and calls the man racial slurs. The 67 year old walks to the other end of the bus just to get away from the thug, only to be followed. Finally the thug throws a punch at the man. He stands up and pummels the thug until he screams for mercy.

Both men were later taken to the hospital by police and released. Neither pressed charges. However, millions have now viewed the fight on YouTube and most are praising the actions of the 67 year old victim. The initial posting of the video has 2.6 million views and 50,000 comments. The video has already spawned facebook fan pages, cut and paste music videos, and other tributes.

Of course the “mainstream” media has rushed in to defend the violent thug who harasses seniors on the public bus. Numerous media reports have run editorialized “news stories” bringing attention to medications the man is on, a confrontation he had with police at a baseball game, and insinuating that he is a “racist.” The San Fransisco Chronicle ran a column calling the man’s YouTube supporters “racists.”

CBS news, which called the man’s comments in the video “racially tinged,” interviewed the woman with the video camera. However CBS fails to mention that the woman herself called the man racial slurs “white boy and pinky,” and yelled “beat his white ass,” while she was filming it. She also may have attempted to steal the man’s bag. She picked up a bag belonging to the victim, but later surrendered it when police arrived.

Warning: Video contains lots of obscene language. We linked to a reposting of the video because the woman who filmed it used profanity in the title.
